Riding Update – Month of July 2019
On June 20th all Members of Parliament were advised of the passing of MP Mark Warawa. Members paid tribute to Mark in the House that afternoon. Soon after, Parliament was adjourned for the summer.
As stated in my last update, on June 22nd, I attended the Dragonfly Festival Parade in Wabamun and later that day, the UCP AGM at the Galloway Station Museum in Edson. On Sunday, I attended the Alberta Beach Alliance Church’s 70th celebration of service. The week of June 24th, I travelled to Fort Nelson, B.C., to attend my grandson’s graduation and ended the week in Grande Cache where I attended their 50th anniversary celebrations.
On July 1st, I attended events celebrating Canada`s 152nd birthday by participating in the Hinton Parade in the morning, Jasper parade in the afternoon and an event in Edson that evening.
On Tuesday, I was in the Edson office catching up on phone calls and emails. Later that day, I attended the Edson Rotary luncheon at the Galloway Station Museum.
On Thursday, I met with constituents in my riding office and on Friday, Nancy and I attended the memorial service for my dear friend, MP Mark Warawa in Langley, BC. We returned to the riding that evening.
During the second week of July, Nancy and I decided to spend some quality time away with family.
I met with constituents during the third week of July and on the 21st I attended the UCP Summer BBQ and Board Meeting in Edson.
On Monday and Tuesday in the fourth week of July, I met with constituents in the Edson office, returned calls and answered emails.
On Wednesday, I attended the unveiling of Wildwood Public Library’s new logo. I was pleased to say a few words congratulating everyone who participated in making this event possible. Later, I greeted a tour group of seniors from Central Alberta at the Rochfort Bridge Trading Post, then I was off to personally deliver ‘Appreciation Certificates’, to constituents in Wildwood, Sangudo, Onoway and Evansburg.
On Thursday, while in the Edson office, I returned phone calls and replied to emails. Later, I travelled to Rocky Mountain House.
On Saturday, while in Rocky Mountain House, I attended Yellowhead EDA’s ‘Meet and Greet’ BBQ. This was followed by an EDA meeting that afternoon. Later, I was pleased to attend and participate in the 70th Anniversary of Fallis Community Hall.
During the first part of the last week of July, I was in the office catching up on a few things.
