Riding Update – Weeks of April 15 & 22, 2019
As mentioned in my Parliament Update for the week of April 8th, I attended Parkland County Community League Volunteer Appreciation Night at Clymont Community Hall on Friday, April 12th and Saturday night, the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet in Warburg.
The morning of Wednesday, April 17th, I met with constituents in Wildwood. In the afternoon I met with constituents in Drayton Valley and that evening I attended the Blue Mountain Power Co-Op Annual General Meeting, at Dovercourt Community Hall, located half way between Rocky Mountain House and Caroline on the Cowboy Trail (Hwy. 22).
I was in Ukraine from April 18 to 22nd as part of the observer mission for the second-round presidential election, leaving Edmonton on April 18th, for Toronto and then on to Frankfurt and landing in Kiev, the afternoon of April 19th.
On Saturday, April 20th, I attended an ‘All Delegates of the Ukraine 2 EOM — Breakfast meeting’ with alumni and future members of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP). That evening, as part of the observer mission, we had dinner with the Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine, Mr. Roman Waschuk.
On the 21st, I observed the second-round presidential election.
On the 22nd, our delegation left Kiev for Frankfurt, then on to Toronto and finally back to Edmonton, arriving home in the Yellowhead after midnight.
On Thursday, April 25th, I hosted a round-table discussion with constituents in Carvel.
On Saturday, April 27th I will be participating in the Hinton Legion’s Spring Rally 2019. Later that day, I will be attending a memorial in Jasper in celebration of a dear friend, Robert (Bob) Wagner Dowling.
On Sunday, April 28th, I will be flying back to Ottawa as Parliament will be convening for the next three weeks.
