OTTAWA: As of September 18th, MP Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, has officially been named as a member of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology (INDU).
The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology studies and reports on legislation, the activities and spending of Industry Canada and its portfolio members, and other issues related to industry and technology capability; scientific research and development; telecommunications policy; investment, trade, small business and tourism; and rules and services that support the effective operation of the marketplace.
“I am proud of the work accomplished by the Environment Committee over the last year and a half,” stated MP Eglinski. “Though I am leaving my position as Vice-Chair in that committee, I look forward to this new role where I can be part of discussions that will impact important sectors in our riding and the rest of Canada.
Even though I am no longer on the Environment Committee, I will keep pressuring the Minister of Environment regarding the Pine Beetle infestation in Jasper National Park and across my riding of Yellowhead as well as on the Caribou,” concluded MP Eglinski.
