National Aboriginal Day – June 21, 2017

National Aboriginal Day

June 21, 2017

Today is National Aboriginal Day across Canada and time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people have made and are making in developing and shaping this great country through their wealth of traditions, lifestyles, and languages they bring to our country.

Early this morning, I attended an Algonquin morning prayer on the banks of the Ottawa River, in Gatineau.  One of the Elders put it so elegantly:

“The Creator created us all to unify and help each other on earth.  To take care of the earth and the animals.”

Have a great National Aboriginal Day!
