Solving Homelessness – Have Your Say
July 18, 2017
OTTAWA: Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is pleased to inform residents of an online engagement process that has been launched by the Advisory Committee on Homelessness to gather feedback and ideas from Canadians on how to prevent and reduce homelessness in Canada.
“Homelessness is a nationwide issue and our riding of Yellowhead is no exception. Therefore, I want to encourage residents to share their views and ideas,” stated MP Eglinski.
All Canadians are invited to participate through the online survey and by sharing their stories before the end of August 2017. The Advisory Committee will consider the feedback and ideas from the engagement process and will provide the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development with options for the redesign of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS).
The survey can be found on Employment and Social Development Canada’s website at: www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/communities/homelessness/consultation-homelessness-partnering-strategy.html
“This participation will play an important role in developing practical solutions to help people secure stable housing while providing them with support for underlying issues such as mental health and addiction,” concluded MP Eglinski.
