Announcing the Winner of MP Eglinski’s 2018 Christmas Card Contest

November 14, 2018

OTTAWA: Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is pleased to announce the winner of his 3rd annual Christmas Card Design Contest.

Miss Abigail Mallory, a grade six student from St. Anthony School in Drayton Valley, designed the cover of MP Eglinski’s Christmas card this year. Her artwork, entitled Woodland Christmas, depicts a winter scene of animals and a young girl putting a star on top of an evergreen tree.

Usually, Parliamentarian Christmas cards display the family of the Parliamentarian and/or an Ottawa scene. However, given that there are many talented young individuals within the Yellowhead riding, MP Eglinski prefers to take this opportunity to recognize the talent of local artists.

“I really liked this one because the poplar trees and forest animals reminded me of Yellowhead. We have so many talented young artists in our riding! Each year it has become more and more difficult to decide which one to choose,” said MP Eglinski.
Miss Mallory’s design will also appear on MP Eglinski’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/jimeglinski.mp), website (www.jimeglinski.ca), and in his December householder.

“Thank you to all those who participated! I really enjoyed getting to see the many different ways young constituents in our riding portray the Christmas season in each of their own ways” concluded MP Eglinski.
Congratulations Abigail!
