Call for Proposals – Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities
January 24, 2018
OTTAWA: Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is pleased to inform constituents of a Call for Proposals through Employment and Social Development Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
“People with disabilities are under-represented in the workforce, despite having much to offer their communities,” stated MP Eglinski. “This call for proposals provides an important opportunity to make sure that all residents in our riding of Yellowhead, regardless of their abilities, feel welcome in their workplaces and communities.”
There are two separate calls for proposals:
- The Skills and Employment Stream is local and offers funding for projects that provide people with disabilities with work experience and training to develop employment-related skills.
- The Working with Employers Stream is national in scope and provides funding for projects that raise awareness and help employers create inclusive workplaces.
Both regional and national applicants can apply for the Skills and Employment Stream. National applicants can also apply for the Working with Employers Stream.
The fund supports a broad range of activities, including wage subsidies, skills development, self-employment assistance, and employer awareness.
The deadline to submit proposals is Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
“I encourage all organizations interested in the program to apply for funding,” concluded MP Eglinski.
