Canada’s Volunteer Awards’ National Advisory Committee

OTTAWA:  Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is pleased to inform residents that Employment and Social Development Canada on January 14, 2019 announced a call for nominations for Canada’s Volunteer Awards’ National Advisory Committee (NAC). The NAC advises and assists the minister on all matters relating to the selection of Canada’s Volunteer Awards (CVA) recipients. The committee will consist of 15 volunteer members and serve for a term of three annual program cycles.

During its mandate, the Canada’s Volunteer Awards National Advisory Committee will:

  • engage its networks and support the promotion of the Canada’s Volunteer Awards program through stakeholders across Canada;
  • make recommendations to the Minister relating to the procedural and promotional aspects of the program; and
  • assess nominations and assist the Minister on all matters relating to the selection of award recipients.

The deadline for submission is February 15, 2019 at 23:59 PST.

“I encourage those with experience in the volunteer community to apply to be a member of the National Advisory Committee,” concluded MP Eglinski.
