Funding for Micro-grants for Cannabis and Vaping Awareness Initiatives
April 26, 2019
OTTAWA: Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, wishes to inform residents that Health Canada has announced the launch of a new three-year, $600,000 micro-grant fund, under its Substance Use and Addictions Program, to support community-led education efforts to inform the public about the health facts of cannabis use and vaping.
Canadians over the age of 16, Canadian not-for-profit organizations and community-based organizations can now apply for a micro-grant of up to $1,000 to support public education projects in their communities.
Funding applications are currently being accepted on a first come, first served basis, with consideration given to fair geographical and audience distribution. As there is a limited amount of funding available, not all eligible applications will receive funding.
“Health effects of cannabis use, and vaping is key to helping reduce the harms associated with these activities,” concluded MP Eglinski.
