OTTAWA:  Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is advising constituents of the nominations for the Veterans Ombudsman Commendation.  The commendation will recognize the efforts of individuals and groups across Canada, and especially in the Yellowhead riding, on behalf of Veterans and their families. These individuals and groups often have a thankless job, but their passion and dedication are crucial to the advancement of Veterans’ issues.

This is an opportunity to recognize someone’s outstanding contributions that meets one of the following criteria:

  • National organization or group – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an organization or group with a national scope that resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact on the well-being of Veterans and their families;
  • Local organization or group – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an organization or group that resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact, at the local or regional level, on the well-being of Veterans and their families;
  • Individual – to recognize the exceptional work and significant contribution of an individual that resulted in a long-lasting and positive impact on the well-being of Veterans and their families at the national or local level; and
  • Lifetime Contribution – to recognize the life-long dedication, exceptional work, and significant contribution an individual has made in supporting or advocating for Veterans and their families.

“I encourage you to complete the online nomination form with a brief summary describing the exceptional work and significant contribution of the nominee, as well as two letters of support from individuals other than the nominator,” said MP Eglinski.

“This is your opportunity to recognize someone’s outstanding contributions to the well-being of Veterans and their families,” concluded MP Eglinski.
