January 20, 2017
OTTAWA: Jim Eglinski, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, is pleased to inform all not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with up to 50 employees looking to hire students for summer 2017 that the application to apply for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs program has been extended to February 3, 2017.
Applicants approved for funding will be able to hire students as early as April 2017.
The Canada Summer Jobs initiative provides funding to not-for-profit, public-sector and small private-sector employers with 50 or fewer employees. It creates summer job opportunities for young people 15 to 30 years of age who are full-time students intending to return to their studies in the next school year.
“As in previous years, we are focusing on local priorities in the Yellowhead riding. This program will help provide experience and skillsets to students today so they can qualify for the relevant jobs in the future,” said MP Eglinski.
Eligible employees can apply online at: www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj or print off an application form from the website. Applications are available at any Service Canada Centre.
